Some further information for choosing an Inside-The-Waistband (IWB) holster.
Carrying your firearm inside the waistband (IWB) is a widely favored method for concealed carry due to its superior concealment capabilities. It provides a full grip on your gun while keeping it discreetly hidden. IWB carry offers many of the same benefits as OWB carry, with an emphasis on improved concealment. In most concealed carry scenarios, we recommend opting for IWB holsters since the majority of the holster and firearm reside within your trousers, necessitating concealment only for the gun's butt. Achieving this can be as straightforward as wearing an untucked T-shirt. In contrast, outside the waistband holsters require concealing both above and below the belt line, often demanding the use of a jacket or longer garment to cover the holstered weapon's muzzle.
The choice between a smooth side out or rough side out design often causes the most significant uncertainty for first-time IWB holster buyers, primarily related to comfort. Typically, holsters constructed with the smooth side out are more comfortable compared to their rough side out counterparts. In the case of the PDC or PDL, we recommend having the front side with a rough finish and the back side with a smooth finish. As long as you maintain the correct holster loop-to-belt width ratio, you can ensure position stability, regardless of the holster's finish.
